Odysseus Back Home
Odysseus and Telemachus return back to Penelope, Odysseus's wife. People have been telling Penelope that Odysseus is in Ithaca alive after twenty years. Telemachus also heard the rumors and told his mom that he hasn't seen him. Meanwhile Odysseus is disguised as a beggar which is why no one recognizes him, only Athena and his old dog can see him. Once the offensive suitors go to bed Odysseus's plan is to test the loyalty and courage of Penelope and their maids. However some of the maids were not loyal, they have been sleeping around with most of the suitors. Before Odysseus was welcomed into Penelope's home disguised as a beggar, Athena cast a spell on her so she wouldn't notice Odysseus. Odyssey persuade his wife to believe that he saw Odyssey (himself) during his adventure. The beggar (Odysseus) announces to Penelope that Odysseus will come back home to Ithaca. Penelope tells Eurycleic, the nurse, to wash the beggar's feet and when she does, the nurse recognizes the a scar on begger's leg. The old nurse (Eurycleic) realizes that it is Odysseus's feet that she is wishing Odysseus asks her to keep it a secret from Penelope. He has greater luck of overpowering the people who tormented his wife and his kingdom(land). He will get his revenge for the suitors and maids for what they've done.
